The camp which took place at the National Theatre Annex, in Iganmu, Lagos was hosted by the Global Editor’s Network globaleditorsnetwork.org, and Google Nigeria, with support from Code for Africa – codeforafrica.org, Hacks/Hackers Africa and the African Network of Centers for Investigative Reporting (ANCIR).

After a 3-day Bootcamp which explored access and use the data, BusinessAgenda’s idea based on Water with – ORMiData to alleviate the water crisis in Nigeria through civic engagement emerged as second runner-up. Television Continental (TVC ) Team came 1st runner up with “i Verify ” and Punch Newspapers came 1st with “Moja”
The bootcamp is aimed at equipping individuals with basic foundation in data literacy that helps to understand, interpret and ultimately write data-driven stories and build projects that use data journalism to develop journalistic stories from data material , in order to better hold the government accountable for its actions and promises. The best projects win $10,000 in seed grants and technology support.
