South-West Nigeria: Deadly expired rice in circulation

The Area Controller of Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service on Wednesday said there has been a convergence of destructive lapsed rice smuggled into the nation by means of land outskirts.

He said the terminated items were taken to the nation consistently, adding that its utilization was perilous to the wellbeing of Nigerians.

He said he had examined the greater part of the products, particularly frozen nourishments and rice, and found they were expired. He included that the greater part of the rice bundles had gone on for a long time before they were repacked, with the terminating dates changed and sent to Nigeria.

“Nigerians need to be careful and disparage our neighborhood items,” he said.
