#Telecom- Glo launches new plan to allow customers borrow data

Nigeria’s telecommunications Globacom, has launched a new product, Glo Borrow Me Data, and repackaged other products for the benefit of its customers.
The company officially unveiled Glo Borrow Me Data at a press conference on Tuesday at its Mike Adenuga Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos head office, where it also announced the three reloaded products, namely, Double Free Tomorrow, 11k/s for All and IDD Packs.
Speaking at the press conference, Globacom’s Head, Usage and Retention, Mr. Sola Arowogbadamu, said Glo Borrow Me Data allows subscribers to borrow Data credit of up to 2GB whenever their data bundles are exhausted and they have no airtime balance to recharge their data plan.
He said customers who are unsuccessful in their bid to subscribe to new data bundle on account of low balance can also have recourse to Glo Borrow Me Data.
According to him, eligibility criterion for the offer includes the length of time the customer has been on the network and the customer’s average monthly data usage.
To request for the service, he said customers only need to dial *321# and follow the menu options.
According to Mr. Arowogbadamu, Double Free Tomorrow gives back to the subscriber,  the following day, 200 percent of whatever is spent on calls, SMS or data on any given day.
“With Glo Double Free Tomorrow, customers get back double benefits free the next day. In other words, if a subscriber on the Glo network uses N500 credit in a day on calls, SMS and data, Glo will give back N1,000 credit to the subscriber the very next day to call all networks, SMS and browse free,” he said. To request for this service, customers are to dial *600#.
Mr. Arowogbadamu described the third offer, 11k/s for All, as a simple flat tariff plan which allows customers enjoy heavily reduced call rate on local and international calls.
The product attracts a daily access fee of N5 and can be activated by dialing *211#.
The last repackaged product, new IDD Packs, according to Mr. Arowogbadamu, is the best deal in the country and covers calls made from Nigeria to 30 major international destinations for as low as N6.60 per minute.
The 30 countries covered by the new IDD packs include United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, India, China and Japan.
